Photographer Kreetta Järvenpää’s exhibition BEE KIND spotlighted the Northern dark bee and asked whether the mass loss of pollinators can still be stopped.
The exhibition focused on the Nordic dark bee and it consisted photographs and installations. BEE KIND is part of a project launched by Järvenpää in the summer of 2020, through which she aimed to spark a discussion about the human impact on insect decline — an issue that is simultaneously a matter of existential importance for us. At the same time, Järvenpää’s works offer a critical examination of her own artistic practice.
You couldn't buy the artworks at the exhibition; the idea was that visitors could donate money to nature conservation work.
