Wearing two hats is a pleasant journey but sometimes also a challenge

Before I can take a photograph of my flowers, there are a lot of things to do.

First you plan: choose your color palette and mood. Then you order or go picking your flowers (this process takes time) After you have them at the workspace you must prep them and in my case they have to be in certain stage - all of them - that I can make my art - that means flowers need time to open or even wilt.

I paint my own backdrops and I use often vintage vases or I build flowers in vessel (that is hidden under flowers). When the shooting day comes I design flowers for my camera and my camera is on tripod.

So if we are talking about my flower photography, it can take weeks before I shoot the work I’ve planned. I might need several shooting days too. But never thought it should be fast. Flowers deserve time and so do I.

Here in my journal I share things and thoughts that are intriguing my mind at the moment as an artist.

They can vary a lot and I don’t have a script or plan for the next post. These are thoughts about materials, ingredients, process, light, zeitgeist, ideas - what ever comes to my mind as an artist. This is about the process and you get to hear things “behind the scenes”.

I photograph flowers, plants and mushrooms at my workspace in natural light. I design all the floral works and when the work is ready I push the button. No AI.

If you want to hear my news then I recommend to sign up to my newsletter. I also share there special discount codes.

Thank you for reading.
