At Artist Home Erkkola on 28.3.26

These beautiful tulips in these two photos grew in Finland. I made a floral art story for Veranda magazine and all the flowers (really!) were grown in Finland. It was perfect assignment. I had enough time to do it in slow way so it was possible to create only with Finnish flowers. It took a long time but it was all worth it!

I can not wait the season begin because in my own garden I have few historic tulips growing. I really hope I see them soon.

It is been awhile I have been teaching flower workshop but now it will happen in our group exhibition Lehden terällä at the museum in March. Check more information here.

5 spots left.

Teaching will be in Finnish but of course with flowers we don’t need another language, well less anyway.

Here in my journal I share things and thoughts that are intriguing my mind at the moment as an artist.

They can vary a lot and I don’t have a script or plan for the next post. These are thoughts about materials, ingredients, process, light, zeitgeist, ideas - what ever comes to my mind as an artist. This is about the process and you get to hear things “behind the scenes”.

I photograph flowers, plants and mushrooms at my workspace in natural light. I design all the floral works and when the work is ready I push the button. No AI.
