J U S T  F L O W E R S  is a photo exhibition and it consists 36 flower-themed photos taken by artist Kreetta Järvenpää in 2019-2023. Järvenpää creates still lifes and installations from flowers and plants. Järvenpää photographs them in natural light. She is known for her distinctive style and she uses her camera like a paintbrush. 

Kreetta Järvenpää reflects: "Flowers - are flowers just flowers? Not for me. I remember flowers from my childhood. How pinching the dandelions made my hands turn yellow and my clothes got streaks of stains as little fingers skittered through the fabric.

I remember the scent of the lovely midsummer rose on a light summer evening. I remember how our mom photographed my sisters and me on a crispy August morning in our new school clothes in front of a majestic red cactus dahlia. For us - children - it was just something what we had to do - to our mom it was important. She created memories.

As a young adult, milkweeds in full bloom made me feel melancholy as I sensed the end of summer. Now it is different.

Beginnings and endings - a life well lived."
